To find peace and happiness in our lives we can look for experiences with our eyes. We call this using our ‘sight’ or we can look for experiences with our intuition. We call this ‘Insight’.
Jim Rohn made this comparison of types of perception in one of his talks on personal development. I love the simplicity in which Jim separates our external and internal senses and reminds us to redirect our attention to using our internal senses when we are dealing with challenges in our lives.
Once you get in the habit of using your natural ‘insight’ you will often find your ‘gut feeling’ about a situation is leading you in the best direction.
Consider next time you are experiencing a stressful moment in your life, a time devoid of happiness, how you can use your ‘insight’ instead of your ‘sight’.
