Many times you may have seen a person in your life that looks sorrowful and you may be inclined to ask “What is wrong?”. It is a thoughtful question but unfortunately I have come to realize it gets the person to focus on their sorrow which rarely helps.

Instead, I have started to ask the question ‘What is right?” when I encounter someone who appears sad to have them change their focus from negative experiences to positive ones.

Too many times in my past experiences when I have felt sad I focused on sad experiences and the only way to disengage from these negative thought patterns is to find a positive experiences to focus on. Perhaps, you are like me in the fact that you appreciate more your health when you feel sick.

Today, more and more I give thanks for all I have even if the day I am experiencing did not go as planned. Since now I believe only if I focus on happiness can I attract happiness.

If you are interested one technique I use regularly to help shift from a sad to a happy mood is to read for just a few minutes one of my favorite books on wisdom and spirituality. I offer you a selection of these books via the books tab on this site Check them out you might find a new favorite.

Your friend on the journey,

David

March 8th each year is International Women’s Day and I just read a note online from a student who said “I didn’t know it was International Women’s day until my professor asked all the male students to stand up and applaud all the women in the classroom.” When I read that I though, wow! What a wonderful action to warm the hearts of the women in the room and hopefully melt away some of the stress many women experience on a daily basis. I recommend that if you involved in a meeting today to embrace this idea.

Today I am taking the time to continue to show the gratitude for the special lady in my life by hiding a gift in her items she takes to work. I also say a special global thank you to all the women in my life that have helped support me in all I do and I hope I have helped make a difference in return.

I encourage all the men who are reading this to see if you can add some surprising happy experiences to the women in your life today and to continue this practice everyday (I doing my best to do the same too!)

Perhaps follow the idea on the last posting I made and give the women in your life a Call of Gratitude. http://thewondertechnique.com/call-of-gratitude/

I encourage all the women who are reading this post to remember you are indeed special and if at all possible do something wonderful for yourself today no matter how small it is.

For more details on International Women’s Day events you can visit this site. www.internationalwomensday.com

Best wishes as always to all the women who read my writings.

Sincerely,

David

Hi, I believe one of the most wonderful practices to embrace in life is an attitude of Gratitude, to be simply thankful for whatever you (and I) are blessed with at this very moment in life.

Sometimes this is easy when the Sun is shining and everyone is being kind to you. Sometimes this is not easy since you may be feeling unhealthy, unhappy and financially broke. But if you have attended any of my seminars over the last ten years you know I firmly believe that where you focus your mind will get you the results of your focus. So focusing on being grateful for the positive experiences no matter how small at least keeps you focused on the good things and this has helped me personally pull through some tough times.

Today I would like to suggest you ‘Enjoy the Joy’ of making a ‘Call of Gratitude’. This simply involves taking up the phone and calling someone and giving them thanks for something that you remember positively they did for you whether it is a friend who picked you up in their car when it was raining last week, the employer who gave you a job after months of searching or the doctor who years ago helped you pull through an illness. Imagine how good you would feel if someone called you today to thank you for something you did in the past.

Now make someone’s day – make that call of gratitude!

Enjoy the experience,

David
