When you have an undesired experience in your personal or business life how do you respond? Do you bounce forward?
I used to feel sad and focus on the loss of any positive experience until I just felt worse. My thoughts would become more and more negative till I felt fatigued and had to sleep.
Thankfully, many people told me to take the time to focus on the positive even when things look negative. I finally understood what the meant when I took the time again and again to read books like As a Man Thinkethand The Power of Your Subconscious Mind (both of which I have probably read more than a dozen times). These books taught me to make sure my thoughts are not on the loss but seeing the experience as a new window of opportunity arriving. They help me focus on the positive. Truthfully, when I focus on the positive good things happen.
The most important tool I learned is to always have an inspirational book close by in case my mind starts to run away from being positive. In fact, as I write this, less than an arms length away I have my copy of As a Man Thinketh.
Your friend on the journey,
P.S. If you would like to see what other books I recommend here are some of my favorites. Let me know your favorites.
