How to be a Top Model in Business and in Life

Share

THE world’s top coaches will tell you that one of the best ways to become successful at anything in life is to study someone who displays the success you want.

Study their personal or business behavior and then copy the behavior that has led to their success.

This type of action on the part of the success-seeker is called modeling.

Modeling is not a new idea. It is at the foundation of many successful therapies in psychology and it is the reason why many individuals, from Tony Robbins to Madonna, have become great at what they do in life and in business.

You already know how to model

In fact, you already know how to model since you were a child. Children learn a lot of what they do by modeling their parents. This is why psychologists repeatedly state that parents must pay close attention to what they say or do around their children. If you have poor habits that you do not want your child to adopt, the well-being of your child is a great motivation to change. This is one of my favorite books on parenting

To change yourself to nourish your life and your business, consider the following steps:

First

Recognize the undesirable habits you have that you want to change and forgive yourself, for you are about to change.

Second

Pick just one habit that you want to change

Third

With the guidance of someone who has achieved your goal, find the simplest, most stress-free approach to installing your desired new habit.

Fourth

Focus on the creating the new habit for 21 days. If the approach does not work, it must be too complicated. Unless, you have been inconsistent in the application of the new habit.

Remember you change step by step. If you don’t succeed, do it again.  What we learn from failures is how to succeed more often. If you really want to make the change you will.
