Get Strong without Moving – Physical Power by Mental Focus

A study titled “From mental power to muscle power–gaining strength by using the mind” published in Pub Med illustrates the power of the human mind.

Read on and imagine how the power of the mind can help you in all areas of your life personal and professional.

The Cleveland Clinic created a study were participants were split into groups where individuals did ‘mental contractions of a physical exercise’, individuals did no action and individuals did the actual physical contractions involved in an exercise.

Training lasted for 12 weeks (15 min per day, 5 days per week).

At the end of the study it was found that the group that did nothing had no gains as expected. The group that did the physical action had a 53 percent positive gain and the group that simply visualised the gain had a 35 percent gain.

Believe it, the group who only used the power of the mind had roughly 70 percent of the gain the group who did the actual exercise.

Think of how this can help you in your life:

Improving on a physical activity
Take time before the activity to rehearse the action mentally with success

Improving a relationship
Take time before the meeting to rehearse the action mentally with success

Improving a business transaction
Take the time before the discussion to rehearse the action mentally with success

If you don’t believe this go to Pub Med and search ‘From mental power to muscle power–gaining strength by using the mind’ and read the study.

Continued Success and Wellness to you!
