Do you suffer from FOMO?

F.O.M.O. is an acronym for the statement Fear of Missing Out.

FOMO can be defined as anxiety you experience when you think that an exciting or interesting event maybe happening somewhere other than where you are. It can also be that you experience anxiety because you feel that you will be better off in another relationship, with another material object or physical experience. People may experience FOMO after reading a posting on Social Media.

One of the solutions to FOMO is mindfulness which is all about living in the moment.

I recently listened to an interview with Tara Brach who has a PhD in Clinical psychology, a passionate believer in the practice of mindfulness and she wrote a booked called Radical Acceptance

If you are looking to improve your ability to accept where you are in life and remain focused as you grow your life then you can check out the free guided meditations on Tara’s site here.

You can learn more directly about Tara by listening to her being interviewed here by Tim Ferriss  (a two hour podcast) or check out her book

BONUS: I also highly recommend you check out the classic book by Thich Nhat Hanh

I keep my personal copy always available on my bookshelf check it out here

Thich is a pioneer in showing us how to be mindful everyday. This translates into better relationships both professional and personal.
